The Lavanda Apartment (for two people) in Renate Lechler’s Crystal and
ORBS Garden.
A dream comes true and finally a trip to Florence can begin from the Lavender
Apartment!
It doesn’t matter why a traveller goes to Florence: it could be for the Art, the
Medicean Palaces or the wealth of museums, or even the magnificent historical
gardens. The cradle of the Renaissance city is full of places to visit. Those who walk
its streets find wonders at every turn. Seeing and discovering new things here is
infinitely more possible than anywhere else. Even those coming for the first time can
meet up with “old acquaintances”: world famous sculptures like those by
Michelangelo, Giambologna and Cellini are all there waiting for admiring visitors.
There are more than a thousand works of Art in the Uffizzi gallery where Art
lovers will be able to experience a sort of Heaven on Earth: the Annunciation
attributed to Leonardo da Vinci and the Birth of Venus by Botticelli, as well as many
others, are among its prestigious collection.
The Duomo Cathedral in all its splendour, the Medici Chapels, not to mention very
famous churches like Santa Croce, are just a short walk away.
Florence is not only the capital city of Tuscany, it is also a city of the present,
of joy and the art of living: it is a centre of culture, concerts, events, congresses and a
fabulous metropolis for purchases, whether they be for designer goods or antiques.
Florence is a particularly pleasant city for shopping and it is organized in zones:
jewellery at Ponte Vecchio, shoes and accessories are around Via Tornabuoni. There
are lots of typical “delicatessens in the side streets as well as wine shops, specialized
bookshops while the antique shops are concentrated along the banks of the Arno.
Guests have a vast possibility of choices even when looking for restaurants,
trattorias, pizzerias, ice cream shops and bars to their tastes. After a long day touring
and discovering the many great opportunities Florence has to offer, there is no
shortage of quiet places like gardens to go to and relax. There are many to choose
from: il Giardino dei Boboli, il Giardino Bottanico, il Giardino del Museo
Archeologico, Il Giardino Bardini, Capponi, Torrigiani and lots more! …. My
favourite park is Villa Demidoff with its monumental Colosso dell’Appennino
sculpture by Giambologna. It is located just a little outside the city in the municipality
of Pratolino, but is easy to get to by bus or car. When you’re in the Chianti area, don’t
miss the chance to visit the green hills, vineyards and olive groves! Treat yourself to
a well being break in the wild!
Tuscany is world famous for its hills and tiny hamlets. Don’t miss the
opportunity of seeing a Chianti wine cellar: succulent antipasti are waiting for you at
the wine and olive oil tasting cantinas! You will learn many secrets about how the
typical wine of this area is made. Also a myriad of enchanting hamlets like Greve,
Terranuova, Castellina in Chianti and Vertine are waiting for you. There is also a
wealth of farmhouses, villas and medieval castles in the Tuscan countryside.
From a historical and artistic point of view, Lucca and Pisa are two of the most
interesting cities in Tuscany. After having admired great works of art like the Tower
of Pisa, you might want to make the short drive to the coast to take a dip in the sea.
Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano and San Quirico d’Orcia, for example are
some of the most beautiful medieval towns known for their famous and esteemed
wines like Brunello or for the production of local pecorino cheese. Obviously, we
can’t forget Siena with its architecture and spectacular summer Palio horse race, or
San Gimignano with its towers and its tasty Vernaccia white wine. There is never
enough time to see everything and enjoy all this art and beauty!
But the Lavanda Apartment in the Crystal and ORBS Garden near Florence
surrounded by its kind inhabitants, is always ready to offer you relaxing hospitality.
After a long and tiring day, you can find refreshing well being on the terrace, have a
swim in the bio-lake and rest to recharge your batteries. We’re sure you’ll want to
return just for the exquisite welcome that the Lavanda Apartment staff has reserved
for you! Between a good book and a glass of wine, you can enjoy the sunset without
forgetting to (for those who want to) pet and cuddle with my super friendly dogs.
Time will feel as if it’s standing still as a sense of serenity, levity and gaiety envelops
you in the typical pleasant atmosphere…. As the day slowly turns to night, you can
marvel at the spectacularly starry sky appearing to bid you a good night.
A thousand individual characteristics come together here in every moment of
the day to create a totally idyllic happiness. What can be better than living in the
present without worrying about the past or the future?
I am pleased that you came to visit.
